"Under The Boardwalk"
I spent a lot of time last winter photographing and sketching these delightful creatures at a
local ferry terminal on the Puget Sound. If I sat still they didn't seem to be frightened and
would come within 15 feet of me. They spend their day eating the "Blue" and" Mahogony"
mussels off the pilings and things under the water. The Barrows Goldeneye winters in the
Puget Sound then heads back north to Canada and Alaska.
